Record Breaking: Rockstar Games’s GTA 6 Pre-Order Might Make $1 Billion (Even Before the Launch)

Rockstar Games’s Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series has been breaking industry records for decades. Now, the open-world mafia is setting its GTA 6 for pre-orders. According to the Financial Times, the GTA 6 is going to break all the sales records despite the gaming market slowdown. To put it into numbers, DFC analysts predict that the total sales number will surpass the mark of $3 billion in the first 12 months (ESPN India).

This is just a glimpse of how successful the game is going to be. To get a detailed picture of how the market is reacting to its launch, keep reading the article till the end.

Analysts’ Take on Rockstar Games’s GTA 6 Pre-Order Success

Analysts are pretty sure that GTA 6’s pre-order sales are going to cross the mark of $1 billion. If compared with its predecessor, GTA 5 made its first billion within 3 days of its release.

But why does it feel so realistic for a game to cross a billion-dollar record in its pre-order phase? Well, that’s because GTA 5 already set various records on its release by selling 29 million copies in the first six weeks, says Eurogamer. At that time, the gaming market was much smaller when compared to its current size.

With these statistics and history, GTA 6’s immense success does not feel unrealistic.

Challenge Against GTA 6 Release

While there is no doubt that the production has taken its time to master the art carefully, the GTA 6 release is becoming a matter of gossip as it might get a bit delayed. It’s all over the internet that the game’s release date might be delayed under Trump’s presidency. The gaming community around the globe is asking the same question about when Grand Theft Auto 6 come out in the market.

Project 2025 is considered to be the primary reason why the delay is expected. Apart from Rockstar Games’s long history of delaying projects, Project 2025 will come with numerous censorship against violence, nudity, and other triggering content. And we all know that, without sexual elements and violence, there is no GTA.

Another party that plays a key role is Elon Musk. Not a long time ago, Musk shared his critical review for GTA in one of his Tweets. Musk tweeted, “Tried, but didn’t like doing crime. GTA5 required shooting police officers in the opening scene. Just couldn’t do it.”

End Note

Hence, all these events together are making it a possibility that GTA 6 release date might get delayed. However, if things go the right way, it is also confirmed that the Rockstar Games GTA 6 pre-order will be a boom and will collect billions of dollars in its earliest stages itself.
